Can you imagine being an artist who isn't allowed into your own show? That's what happened to folk artist Clementine Hunter. Her paintings went from hanging on her clothesline to hanging in museums, yet because of the color of her skin, a friend had to sneak her in when the gallery was closed.
After listening to the story about the American artist Clementine Hunter, “Art From Her Heart" by Kathy Whitehead, artist and art educator Gay Bechtelheimer will create a “zinnia” painting inspired by the work of the artist. One lucky viewer will win the book "Art From Her Heart" by submitting a photo of your finished artwork in the comment section of the video. Winner will be chosen at random on Friday, May 1st.
