TRAIL OF LIGHTS AT MAD PRESENTED BY MURPHY USA COMING THIS DECEMBER TO THE MAD AMP!
EL DORADO, AR. (November 20, 2023) Trail of Lights at MAD presented by Murphy USA will open to the public on Tuesday, December 5th at 5pm. New to El Dorado, this attraction will take place in the MAD Amphitheater nightly through December. The MAD Amphitheater is located at 105 East Locust Street at the Murphy Arts District. There is no cost to visit the Trail of Lights at MAD.
“We are thrilled to light the amphitheater up with Christmas cheer and lots of lights this December. Thanks to support from Murphy USA, we can provide the community and visitors with a great attraction and another reason to travel to El Dorado this holiday season,” said Pam Griffin, MAD President and CEO.
In addition to traditional Christmas lights in trees, LED lights will be used throughout the amphitheater in a process called pixel mapping. Pixel mapping uses special techniques to create interactive lighting. These LED lights will be featured in the arch entryway sponsored by Ken’s Discount and in multiple designs throughout the path of the amphitheater including talking Christmas trees. In the center of the amphitheater, you’ll find an array of real Christmas trees sponsored by Diversified Services. The trees will surround a Santa chair perfect for family photos. Children and parents will be excited to learn that the Trail of Lights will include a bounce house, inflatable slide, and train. The train can hold up to five children at one time and will travel through the path of the lighted amphitheater. Oh What Fun!
“Our team has constructed a DIY train out of plastic barrels and dollies. I am so impressed with how cute it is, so I know the little kids will love it! We are adding some finishing touches on the train this coming week and then it will be ready for action. The train, along with the bounce house and slide, will be available on the weekends and when the kids are out of school,” said Joanna Benson, MAD Marketing Manager.
Opportunities for private party rentals will be available this year as well. Parties will take place in MAD’s newly purchased 26 x 26-foot inflatable igloo-shaped dome. The igloo can be rented out privately during non-operating Trail of Lights hours along with the bounce house, slide, and train. Another option is to rent the igloo during operational hours with the use of the bounce house, slide, and train being open to the public. Rentals can be made through MAD’s website at www.eldomad.com.
